On 1st April the Council debated a motion on the Railway Path and BRT put by Bristol's sole Green councillor, Charlie Bolton. A motion was first amended by the Lib-Dems with Charlie Bolton's full agreement.
At this point it was an even stronger rejection of the use of the Railway Path for any other purpose than cycling and walking. The crowds of Railway Path supporters present at the meeting were cheering. But then came an amendment worded by the Labour Group, and this was the version which was voted through.
Read the accepted motion here. The council has failed to fully protect the Path from becoming a BRT route and the campaign is by no means over. The orignial motion, which, had it been passed, would have fully protected the Railway path is here
The whole meeting was recorded on video.
